NMMU Open Day 2015

About This Project

To encourage scholars to attend NMMU Open Day in Port Elizabeth & George.

NMMU Open Day provides students with the opportunity to hone in on their career paths. By being exposed to the wide variety of options on show at Open Day, scholars are able to filter out what doesn’t appeal to them and focus on what does.

We know that for a lot of scholars approaching the end of their high school career, the pressure to choose the right career path weighs heavily on their shoulders.  What adds to this pressure is the expectation that is placed on them by friends, parents and even teachers to be or pursue qualifications that they may not necessarily enjoy. What they need at this point – which is what an Open Day has the opportunity to provide – is clarity.

The NMMU Open Day was well received with 88 schools attending from the metro and outside the metro. 2500 learners were recorded during prior booking, with 4000 students having walked through Open Day. An overwhelming 55.4% of student feedback rated the Open Day as ‘excellent’.
